Dodgers Announce Selections From Third Day Of 2019 Draft

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced their final 30 picks from the third day of the 2019 Draft.

The Dodgers made 41 overall selections in this year’s draft, picking 20 pitchers (12 right-handers, eight left-handers), 10 outfielders, nine infielders and two catchers. Of the 21 drafted position players, 14 are right-handed hitters, five are left-handed hitters and two are switch-hitters. Thirty-three were selected from the college ranks, while eight were drafted out of high school. 

On the draft’s third and final day, the Dodgers picked 23 players from the college ranks including RHP Logan Boyer (San Diego State), LHP Mitchell Tyranski (Michigan State), LHP Jacob Cantleberry (Missouri), LHP Sean Mellen (Northeastern), OF Joe Vranesh (St. Mary’s), RHP Andrew Baker (Chipola College), OF Brandon Wulff (Stanford), LHP Jeff Belge (St. John’s), LHP Braidyn Fink (Oklahoma), RHP Zack Plunkett (Arkansas), SS Jimmy Titus (Bryant University), RHP Cyrillo Watson (Illinois), CF Chet Allison (Fresno City College), OF Jonny Deluca (Oregon), RHP Mark Mixon (Miami), RHP Parker Brahms (Sacramento State), RHP Josh Ibarra (Golden West College), CF Danny Sinatro (Washington State), 3B Julio Carrion (Chipola College), CF Justin Washington (Savannah State), RF Matthew Kanfer (Pepperdine), C Tyler Ryan (University of the Pacific) and C Ty Haselman (UCLA).

In addition, the Dodgers selected seven high school players in J.M. Tate HS (FL) OF Trey LaFleur, Woodstock HS (GA) SS Brennan Milone, Rutherford HS (NJ) SS Breyln Jones, Dixie HS (UT) SS Kayle Yates, Puerto Rico Baseball Academy (PR) LHP Francisco Martinez, Mount Vernon Presbyterian School (GA) CF Tres Gonzalez and Pantego Christian Academy (TX) LHP Caden MacDonald.

Three of this year’s draftees have family ties to the Major Leagues. UCLA catcher Ty Haselman is the son of Bill Haselman, who caught in the Major Leagues for 13 years and is now the Dodgers’ Player Development Manager Coordinator. Danny Sinatro’s father, Matt, played for four teams in his ten-year career, while Breyln Jones is the son of former pitcher Bobby Jones.
