Dodgers recall C Will Smith

LOS ANGELES –The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled catcher Will Smith and placed infielder David Freese on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 21, with a left hamstring strain.

Smith, 23, returns for his second stint with the club. In his first stop, he appeared in six games, batting .286 (6-for-21) with two homers and three RBI. In his last 10 games with Oklahoma City, he is batting .306 with six homers and nine RBI, including five consecutive games with a homer from June 12-17. Overall, he is batting .291 with 14 homers and 39 RBI in 49 games for OKC.

Freese, 36, has appeared in 56 games for the Dodgers, batting .308 (37-for-120) with eight homers and 23 RBI. In the month of June, the infielder is batting .366 (15-for-41) with four homers and nine RBI.
