DODGERS SELECT ANDREW HEANEY
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Andrew Heaney and optioned right-handed pitcher Will Klein. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred right-handed pitcher Nick Frasso to the 60-day injured list.
Heaney, 34, signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on September 1. He made four starts for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, posting a 0.90 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 10.0 innings. This is his 12th Major League season with the Miami Marlins (2014), Los Angeles Angels (2015-21), New York Yankees (2021), Dodgers (2022), Texas Rangers (2023-24) and Pirates (2025), going 56-72 with a 4.55 ERA in 229 games.
Klein, 25, pitched 1.2 scoreless innings last night. He has made 14 appearances for the Dodgers this season, going 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 15.1 innings. He was acquired on June 2 from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-handed pitcher Joe Jacques. He made his Major League debut in 2024, allowing nine runs in 7.1 innings between the Royals and Athletics. In five minor league seasons, he is 14-12 with a 5.33 ERA in 195 games.
