The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the Major League roster:
Placed 1B/DH EDWIN ENCARNACION (right hand contusion) on the 10-day Disabled List, retroactive to August 11.
Recalled INF YANDY DĺAZ from AAA Columbus. 
Dίaz, 27, has spent most of the season at AAA Columbus (102-for-348) with 24 doubles, 3 home runs and 40 RBI in 98 games (.409/.388/.797). He is currently leading the International League in walks (70) and on-base pct. (.409) and is tied for sixth in doubles and ninth in batting average. Over his last 13 games with Columbus he is batting .360 (18-for-50) with 9 runs scored and on the year for the Clippers he has appeared in 73 games at third base and 12 games at first. Today marks the beginning of his second stint with Cleveland, hitting safely in all four games of his previous stint, July 20-23 (.500, 7-for-14).
