The class will be taught by a special guest yoga instructor Michael Collins of Blue Yoga in Birmingham, MI. Michael, who is also an ambassador for Lululemon, teaches with a focus on the breath, mind, and body. He believes that if you come to your mat to win, you will lose, but if you come to your mat to practice and learn, you will grow. As Michael continues to deepen his own practice, and further explores a balanced life, non-judgment, and an open heart, he hopes to weave these themes into each of the classes he teaches.
Fans can now purchase the exclusive yoga ticket package that includes a one-hour yoga class in the Comerica Park outfield (weather permitting), a Detroit Tigers branded yoga water bottle, one mezzanine, upper reserve infield, lower baseline box or upper grandstand game ticket for one game September 17-23 and a $2 donation to The Downtown Boxing Gym.
The Downtown Boxing Gym is a free after-school academic and athletic program that educates and empowers Detroit students. The gym provides tutoring, mentorship, college and career readiness, enrichment programs (computer coding, cooking, and music), athletics, transportation and healthy meals. Services are provided free of charge year-round; students "pay" by participating in community service projects. Since the gym was founded in 2007, 100% of Downtown Boxing Gym participants have graduated from high school. Learn more at downtownboxinggym.org.
