Kansas City Royals designated hitter Kendrys Morales has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his actions following his ninth inning ejection, which included returning to the field, during Tuesday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Joe Garagiola Jr., Senior Vice President of Standards & On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
Unless appealed, the suspension of Morales is scheduled to be served this afternoon, when the Royals are to conclude their series at Tampa Bay. If he elects to appeal, then the discipline issued to him will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
