The Seattle Mariners game at the Detroit Tigers, scheduled for today, Friday, May 11 at 7:10 pm (ET)/4:10 pm (PT), has been cancelled due to rain.
This is the second Mariners postponement of the season. The Mariners were previously postponed by impending inclement weather on April 8 at Minnesota. The team is scheduled to make up that game on Monday, May 14.
Seattle had not been rained out in Detroit since Aug. 6, 1998.
Tonight's game is scheduled to be made up as the second game of a traditional double header tomorrow, Saturday, May 12. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 pm (ET) / 1:10 pm (PT). The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of game #1. Both games will be televised by ROOT Sportsand broadcast on 710 ESPN Seattle and the Mariners radio network.
Left-handed pitcher Marco Gonzales (3-2, 5.19) will start game #1 on Saturday. Right-hander Félix Hernández (4-3, 5.28) is scheduled to start the nightcap.
