
SEATTLE – The Mariners are set to select 16 players on the second and final day of the 2026 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Yesterday, Seattle selected 3B Ace Reese from Mississippi State University with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 Draft. They followed the selection of Reese with OF Jake Brown (Louisiana State University) in the 2nd round (65th overall), RHP Nathan Taylor (University of Cincinnati) in the 3rd round (101st overall) and 3B Trevor Lucas (University of North Carolina at Wilmington) in the 4th round (129th overall).
Below is a list of Seattle's selections on Day 2 of the 2026 MLB Draft:

5th round (162nd overall) – OF Hayden Yost (University of Florida)
Yost, 21, batted .262 (28x107) with 28 runs, 5 doubles, 10 home runs, 23 RBI, 12 walks, and 3 stolen bases while owning a .369 OBP and a .589 slugging percentage during his junior season at the University of Florida in 2026. His .958 OPS, 10 home runs, and .589 SLG in his last season at UF all marked career-highs. He earned 2025 CSC Academic All-District honors during his sophomore season. Over 3 seasons at Florida, Yost posted a .264 (96x363) batting average, recording 77 runs, 23 doubles, 14 home runs, 65 RBI, 52 walks, 21 stolen bases, a .381 OBP and a .444 SLG in the process.

6th round (191st pick) – 3B Henry Ford (University of Tennessee)
Ford, 21, batted .293 (71x242) with 51 runs, 15 doubles, 20 home runs, 57 RBI, 27 walks, and 3 stolen bases during his junior season at the University of Tennessee in 2026. His 20 home runs, 57 RBI, and .603 SLG led the team in 2026. He earned 2026 Perfect Game Preseason First Team All-American honors
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound right-handed batter, played his first two season of collegiate ball at Virginia before transferring to Tennessee, posting a combined .329 (231x702) batting average over the 3 seasons with 51 runs, 15 doubles, 20 home runs, 57 RBI, 27 walks, 3 stolen bases, a .360 OBP and a .603 SLG. Ford was named 2025 All-ACC Second Team during his sophomore year and D1Baseball Freshman All-American and NCBWA Freshman All-American during in his first collegiate season at UVA.
Ford is from Charlottesville, Virginia and attended Baylor High School (TN). Coming out of high school, he was ranked the 19th overall prospect in Virginia and 4th shortstop by Perfect Game.
