On Saturday, June 24, Turn Back the Clock Night, Mariners and Astros players will be outfitted in replica jerseys from the era: V-neck pullover tops with the Mariners original trident "M" logo and the Astros orange and yellow stripes. The first 20,000 fans through the gates will receive a royal blue Mariners trident cap, courtesy of Stihl.
As the Seattle Mariners 40th Anniversary celebration continues, presented by Alaska Airlines, Safeco Field will be sent back in time to 1977, the franchise's rookie season.
During the pregame ceremony, the Mariners will salute three Seattle sports legends: Julio Cruz, who played second base for the Mariners from 1977-1983; Sonics great Fred Brown (1971-1984); and Steve Raible, Seahawks wide receiver (1976-1981). The three will be introduced and throw out ceremonial first pitches.
Although Safeco Field could never recreate that special Kingdome atmosphere, there will be some in-game touches that harken back to the Mariners original home. Headshots of the players on the MarinersVision HD videoscreen will be sporting a decidedly disco era look, the Mariners TV broadcasters, grounds crew, ball girls and even the Moose, will also be decked out in retro gear. Fans are invited to wear their best 1977 fashions for a costume contest near Section 187. Winners will get tickets to a future game and the chance to dance with the Moose on top of the Mariners dugout during the 7th Inning Stretch.
Fight Hunger Night
Saturday is also the Mariners annual Fight Hunger Night, presented by KIRO Radio 97.3FM. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to Northwest Harvest. Suggested items include oatmeal, whole grain pasta, canned vegetables, canned fruit, fish or meat, shelf-stable milk, baby formula, infant cereal, jarred baby food, powdered or canned milk. Volunteers will also accept cash donations.

Tickets for all Mariners games are available at Mariners.com/Tickets, at the Safeco Field Box Office and Seattle Mariners Team Stores (4th & Stewart in downtown Seattle, Bellevue Square, Southcenter Mall and Alderwood Mall), and by phone at 1-888-SEA-HITS.
