German-born outfielder Max Kepler of the Minnesota Twins will retrace the steps from his youth with a trip home to Germany as part of Major League Baseball’s ongoing efforts to promote the game and stimulate growth within the playing community across the country. Kepler will travel to several German cities, including Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt, as well as Regensburg, where he will assist with a clinic for 80 children between the ages of 12–14.

Kepler, who was born in Berlin, played for Buchbinder Legionare Regensburg of Bundesliga before signing professionally with the Twins in 2009. Max made his Major League debut in 2015. In 2019, the 26-year-old left-handed hitter batted .252 with 132 hits, 36 HR, 90 RBI and 98 runs scored, all career highs, for the American League Central Champions, who enjoyed one of the finest regular seasons in franchise history with 101 wins. Kepler, who became the eighth different Twin ever to post a season of 30 homers and 30 doubles, was a contributor to the Twins’ all-time Major League single-season record total of 307 home runs.
