NEW YORK YANKEES TO PARTNER WITH THE NYPD’s 44TH PRECINCT AND THE FOOD BANK FOR NEW YORK CITY FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR TO PROVIDE HOLIDAY GROCERIES AND TOYS TO 500 NEIGHBORHOOD FAMILIES
MANAGER AARON BOONE TO ASSIST OFFICERS AND FOOD BANK STAFF IN “POP-UP” DISTRIBUTION AT THE 44TH PRECINCT ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19, AT 2:00 P.M.
The New York Yankees, the NYPD’s 44th Precinct and the Food Bank For New York City today announced a special “pop-up” food and toy distribution at the 44th Precinct on Friday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m. The three entities are partnering to host the distribution for a fourth consecutive year.
“Pop-up” food distributions have been a monthly staple at Yankee Stadium since May 2021 — providing 500 families per month with access to shelf stable food items and fresh produce. The “pop-up” food distribution program was born from the Yankees’ deep-rooted relationship with the Food Bank For New York City. Friday’s event will mark the Yankees’ fourth off-site “pop-up,” and the team is excited to re-join the officers of the 44th Precinct in making the holiday season brighter.
The Yankees are grateful for Manager Aaron Boone, whose generous support of the event at the 44th Precinct has made grocery distribution possible since the inaugural off-site “pop-up” in 2022. He will be on hand to take part in the distribution and will be available to media.
Those receiving groceries on Friday will also receive a $25 voucher for local C-Town and Bravo supermarkets, along with a holiday gift to provide to a young member of the family. Filled with gratitude, the Yankees thank Walmart and Nike for their toy and sporting equipment contributions, as well as Krasdale Foods for supplying groceries.
