Mets add four to 40-man roster

he New York Mets today announced that the club added RHP Tyler Bashlor, RHP Gerson Bautista, infielder Luis Guillorme and RHP Corey Oswalt to the 40-man roster. The Mets 40-man roster currently stands at 39.

FLUSHING, N.Y., November 20, 2017 - The New York Mets today announced that the club added RHP Tyler Bashlor, RHP Gerson Bautista, infielder Luis Guillorme and RHP Corey Oswalt to the 40-man roster. The Mets 40-man roster currently stands at 39.
Bashlor, 24, went 3-2 with 13 saves and a 3.44 ERA (19 earned runs/49.2 innings) in 46 games between St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League and Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League last season. He was named to the 2017 mid-season Florida State League All-Star team. He recorded 84 strikeouts (15.2 strikeouts per nine innings) and held opponents to a .220 batting average during the year.
Bautista, 22, was acquired by the Mets on July 31 along with righthanded pitchers Stephen Nogosek and Jamie Callahan from Boston in exchange for Addison Reed. Bautista went 3-3 with nine saves and a 4.22 ERA (28 earned runs/59.2 innings) in 37 games between Salem (A) of the South Atlantic League and St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League in 2017. Combined he racked up 73 strikeouts, averaging 11.0 strikeouts per nine innings.
Guillorme, 23, was named to the Eastern League mid-season and end of the year All-Star teams in 2017. He finished fourth in the EL with 136 hits, second in walks (72) and led Binghamton with a .376 OBP. Guillorme batted .283 (136-481) and was the toughest player in the Eastern League to strikeout (once every 10.15 plate appearances). He added 20 doubles, 70 runs scored and had 43 RBI. Guillorme was named to the Arizona Fall League All-Star team after he hit .289 (13-45) with three doubles and three RBI in 11 games for Scottsdale.
Oswalt, 24, was named the 2017 Eastern League Pitcher of the Year. He went 12-5 with a league-leading 2.28 ERA in 24 regular season starts for Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League. Oswalt finished second in the EL in victories, third in WHIP (1.18) and fifth in opponent batting average (.236). He struck out a career-high 119 batters. Oswalt was named to the mid-season and end of the year Eastern League All-Star teams.
