The New York Mets announced that the club recalled RHP Chris Flexen from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and optioned RHP Hansel Robles to Las Vegas on Tuesday. Flexen will wear #64 and will be available for Wednesday's game in Colorado.
Flexen, 23, is 4-6 with a 5.43 ERA (35 earned runs/58.0 innings) in 12 games, 11 starts with the 51s this year. He has issued 19 walks and struck out 54.
The 6-3, 230-pounder was with the Mets from May 19-27 earlier this year and allowed three earned runs in 2.0 innings of work. Flexen was 3-6 with a 7.88 ERA (42 earned runs/48.0 innings) in 14 games, nine starts in 2017 with the Mets.
Robles, 27, is 2-2 with a 5.03 ERA (11 earned runs/19.2 innings) in 16 games with the Mets this season.
