Nationals Homecoming Gala Raises More Than One Million Dollars

March 27th, 2019

Tonight at The Anthem at District Wharf, the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation highlighted its year-round community contributions during their annual Gala. As the primary fundraiser for the Dream Foundation, the 2019 Homecoming Gala raised more than one million dollars for the Foundation’s initiatives focused on academics, the arts, nutrition and sports for children and teens in the Washington, D.C. region.

This year’s reimagined Gala at District Wharf was emceed by Lindsay Czarniak and featured a red carpet event presented by Chase, a cocktail reception, dinner program, silent and live auctions, and an ‘Extra Innings Party’ featuring a musical performance by Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Fans unable to attend the sold-out Gala were still able to take part in the festivities with Nationals-themed food and drink specials at participating District Wharf restaurants. Throughout the past week, fans were able to try four signature cocktails inspired by their favorite Nationals players at Wharf-area restaurants. All four participating Nationals players will have a donation made to the charity of their choice.

The Annette M. and Theodore N. Lerner Family Foundation, Congressional Sports for Charity, Chase, Verizon, DoubleWood Farm, Gary and Pennie Abramson Charitable Foundation, SWaN & Legend Venture Partners, the Donahue/Dahlberg Family, the Shenker Family, Fox Rothschild LLP, Datawatch, and JLL were the major sponsors of this year’s event.

A 501(c)3 charitable organization, the Dream Foundation is committed to improving the lives of local youth through community partnerships and programming. For more information on the Dream Foundation, please visit www.nationals.com/dream.
