March 25th, 2019

SAN DIEGO, CA – The San Diego Padres announced details today surrounding the newly constructed Sycuan Stage located at Petco Park’s Park at the Park. The stage will serve as the newest premier concert venue in America’s Finest City and host a minimum of eight national touring acts per year as part of the club’s partnership with Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company. With a general admission capacity of over 6,000 guests, the Sycuan Stage is the first of its kind among Major League ballparks, offering a unique outdoor setting in the middle of downtown San Diego and further establishing Petco Park as the region’s premier entertainment destination.

“Petco Park is more than a ballpark and has become San Diego’s premier entertainment venue”, said Padres President of Business Operations Erik Greupner. “In addition to our award-winning Padres gameday experience, we are proud to partner with Live Nation to bring some of the hottest musical acts to the Sycuan Stage at Park at the Park. This one-of-a-kind venue is the latest step in making Petco Park a world class entertainment destination.”

The Sycuan Stage features a state-of-the-art roof system with the capability to withstand more than 90,000 pounds of production allowing for the ability to customize and fulfill the need of any specific artist requests. Measuring at 64’ x 28’ x 5’, the ample stage size provides plenty of space for acts to perform and move about freely. The Park at the Park is a 2.8-acre green space beyond the centerfield fence at Petco Park that is open to the public when it is not used for Padres games or other events. The park setting is unique among all MLB ballparks and has become integrated into the surrounding urban fabric of downtown San Diego.

“Live Nation is excited to partner with the San Diego Padres to combine resources and bring live music to the heart of downtown San Diego”, said Candace Mandracia, President of Live Nation San Diego. “The central location and unique space that Park at the Park offers makes for an incredible concert-going experience.”

The 2019 Sycuan Stage lineup commences with LED’s My Life Every Day Memorial Day festival on May 25-26 followed by bands Coheed and Cambria and Mastodon rocking the stage as part of their “Unheavenly Skye Tour” on Wednesday, June 26. Doors for the Coheed and Cambria and Mastodon show open at 5:30 p.m. with tickets available now at www.livenation.com. After playing host to the CountryFest, Día de los Deftones and Day MVS XL music festivals in 2018, Park at the Park will also expand upon its festival footprint in 2019 by adding the Petco Park playing field, J Street and other surrounding venues to increase the venue capacity.
