Pirates announce First Responders Night
Team to wear special patch in honor of area first responders
On Saturday, April 20, the Pirates will honor area law enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, among other groups, with First Responders Night at PNC Park. Today, the team announced Pirates players will wear a special City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety patch to pay tribute to area first responders during the Saturday 4:05 p.m. game vs the San Francisco Giants.
Plans for the day include several other opportunities to honor the men and women who serve as first responders, including prior to the game on Federal Street and a special on-field ceremony.
Special tickets for the date are now available through pirates.com/FirstResponders, with each ticket including a choice of one of three exclusive Pirates-branded caps as well as a donation to first responders.
• Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement Pirates cap: Tickets include a $5 donation to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
• Thin Red Line Firefighters Pirates cap: Tickets include a donation to National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
• Thin White Line EMS Pirates cap: Tickets include a $5 donation to the National EMS Memorial Fund.
Tickets are just $30 and each theme ticket for First Responders Night includes a seat in the Outfield Box area and one cap. In order to receive access to special seating sections and caps, fans MUST purchase a First Responders Night theme ticket through pirates.com/FirstResponders and select the cap of their choice. For each Theme Ticket purchased to the game, fans may pick up their promotional cap on the day of the game at the Pirates Treasure Chest - located at the bottom of the Peoples Home Plate Rotunda. The Treasure Chest is open 90 minutes prior to game time, until the end of the third inning.
Throughout the upcoming season, fans will have the chance to take part in many unique themed events at PNC Park by purchasing special tickets to select dates, all available at pirates.com/theme.
