2022 Reds HOF Collectible Bobblehead for June: César Gerónimo

Bobbleheads are available Saturdays and Sundays in June

June 3rd, 2022

The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum presented by Dinsmore is continuing its 2022 bobblehead series in June with Reds Hall of Famer César Gerónimo.

The Reds acquired César Gerónimo in the blockbuster deal that brought Hall of Famer Joe Morgan to Cincinnati prior to the 1972 season, and he quickly became the center fielder who would anchor the outfield of the Big Red Machine teams that dominated baseball during the 1970s. His peak offensive season occurred in 1976 when he batted .307 during the World Championship season. The successful offensive campaign in 1976 was preceded by a seven-hit, two-home-run performance in the Reds’ seven-game victory over the Boston Red Sox in the 1975 World Series.

Reds Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson described his defense as “ungodly” and his contemporaries compared his arm to that of Roberto Clemente. Gerónimo’s prowess in the outfield resulted in four consecutive Gold Glove awards from 1974 to 1977. He retired in 1983 and became the seventh member of the Big Red Machine’s “Great Eight” starting lineup to be inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2008.

The bobblehead, presented by Dinsmore, is free with regular-price paid admission to the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum (or a Great American Ball Park Tour) beginning Saturday, June 4, at 10 a.m. and will be available Saturdays and Sundays through June, while supplies last. Only 4,000 bobbleheads were produced and there is a limit of one bobblehead per visitor per day.

The bobblehead series runs through September with a different Reds Hall of Famer available each month:

  • May: José Rijo (Class of 2005, now available with MVP membership only)
  • June: César Géronimo (Class of 2008)
  • July: Mario Soto (Class of 2001)
  • August: Pedro Borbón (Class of 2010)
  • September: David Concepción (Class of 2000)

The five Latin American players in the 2022 collectible series are showcased in the new museum exhibit: ¡Los Rojos!: A Celebration of the Latino Impact on the Reds and Major League Baseball presented by Dinsmore.

The bobbleheads are included with MVP and World Champion level memberships to the Hall of Fame. For more information on becoming a member, visit RedsMuseum.org.
