OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics agreed to terms with infielder baseman Jed Lowrie on a one-year contract for the 2022 season, the club announced today.

Lowrie was signed by the A’s to a minor league contract last year on Feb. 10 after playing in just nine games over the previous two seasons and ended up batting .245 with 28 doubles, 14 home runs and 69 RBI in 139 games in his third stint with Oakland. It was the fifth time in his 14-year career he played in at least 100 games, all of which have come in his six seasons with the A’s. The 37-year-old switch hitter has played 826 games in an Oakland uniform, which are the most games played by an Athletic over the last 17 years. Lowrie has 200 career doubles, which ranks 10th in Oakland history, and his 449 games at second base are fifth most in Oakland history.
