OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s have teamed up with the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, San Jose Earthquakes, and San Jose Sharks for a special #BayAreaUnite Giving Tuesday fundraiser. Now through Friday, Dec. 4, fans can make an online donation at athletics.com/donation to support each team’s foundation and initiatives serving youth throughout the Bay Area.
The fundraiser is part of Giving Tuesday, a global movement that is held annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving to mark the beginning of the charitable season.
The six teams are using the unifying power of sports to bring their fan bases together for a good cause. Funds raised for the Oakland A’s Community Fund will support the Club’s youth baseball and softball initiatives in the East Bay. The team provides scholarship support and uniforms to more than 65 leagues and more than 22,000 youth athletes annually as well as coaching and skills development workshops and clinics.
