OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s announced five additional non-roster invitees to Spring Training, bringing their total to 18. The list includes right-handed pitchers Parker Dunshee and Brian Howard, catcher Tyler Soderstrom, infielder Nick Allen and outfielder Buddy Reed.

Allen, Dunshee, Howard and Reed were all non-roster invitees with Oakland last spring and were later added to the 60-man player pool for the 2020 season. They spent the entire season at the A’s alternate camp site in San Jose. Allen is rated as the A’s number four prospect by MLB.com and number six by Baseball America. Reed checks in at number 24 on MLB.com, Howard is ranked 25th and Dunshee is 27th.

Soderstrom was the A’s first round pick in the 2020 First-Year Player Draft and was added to Oakland’s 60-man player pool for the 2020 season after signing. He is the A’s top prospect according to Baseball America and is ranked third by MLB.com.
