A’s announce Major League coaching staff for 2024

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s have named Bobby Crosby first base coach and Dan Hubbs bullpen coach on manager Mark Kotsay’s coaching staff for the 2024 season, the club announced today. Darren Bush remains bench coach and will additionally take on the role of director of hitting. Mike Aldrete joins Chris Cron as hitting coach, Eric Martins remains the third base coach, while Scott Emerson returns as pitching coach. Marcus Jensen remains quality control coach and Ramón Hernandez will serve as Major League coach and interpreter. 

Crosby has managed Double-A Midland since 2021 and served as a coach on the RockHounds staff in 2019. He was originally drafted by the A’s in the first round of the 2001 First Year Player Draft out of Long Beach and was named American League Rookie of the Year in 2004. 

Hubbs joins the Major League staff after serving as minor league pitching performance coach last year, his first with the A’s organization. He previously spent two seasons as director of pitching development and strategies with the Detroit Tigers and coached for 20 years at the Division 1 collegiate level, spending 12 years as an assistant coach at California, one year as associate head coach at USC and seven years as head coach at USC. Hubbs was drafted by Los Angeles (NL) in the 16th round of the 1993 First-Year Player Draft out of USC.
