OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland Athletics have named Manuel Colón as Director of Minor League Operations, the club announced today. In this role, Colón will oversee the baseball-related operations at the A’s training facilities in Arizona and throughout the nation for all minor league affiliates. He will also consult on operations in the Dominican Republic.

Colón most recently worked for the Miami Marlins, serving as the club’s Director of Team Travel & Operations from 2010-20 after spending 2005-10 in Miami’s Player Development department.   

The Monterey, CA native holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Sports Administration from St. Thomas University.
