A's recall LHP Logue from Las Vegas; option LHP Selman to Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics recalled left-handed pitcher Zach Logue from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned left-handed pitcher Sam Selman to Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Logue joins the A’s for the sixth time this year and is 3-5 with a 4.79 ERA in eight games, seven starts, in his Major League debut. He last appeared with Oakland on July 21 as the 27th man for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Tigers where he allowed five hits, three runs (two earned) across 6.0 innings with one walk and four strikeouts. The 26-year-old left-hander combined for a 2-2 record and a 2.04 ERA in four games, including three starts, over his first two stints. Logue was 3-4 with a 6.29 ERA and 1.046 OPS in 14 starts with Las Vegas, including 3-4 with a 6.49 ERA and 1.054 OPS in 10 starts following his May 29 option from Oakland.

Selman was recalled from Las Vegas July 25 for his fourth stint with the A’s this year and allowed one run in 3.2 innings over three relief appearances. He has a 4.30 ERA and .702 opponents OPS in 12 relief appearances overall with Oakland and is also 2-0 with four saves, a 1.50 ERA and .522 OPS in 18 relief appearances with the Aviators.
