May 21st, 2020

PHILADELPHIA, May 21, 2020 -- Aaron Nola and Joe Girardi have teamed up with 5-Year MLB Veteran, Mikie Mahtook, and his Mentor -– high-performance coach, James Reid -- to give hope back to young athletes and their families who’ve been affected by COVID-19.

Joe Girardi was recently interviewed in front of a live audience on Zoom inside the Champions Rise Challenge – an online summit bringing together the world’s top athletes, coaches, and industry experts.

Aaron Nola’s interview took place on Wednesday, May 20th at 8PM Eastern, in front of the same live audience.

Mahtook and Reid created this event to offer young athletes and their parents life- changing advice and guidance on how to stay committed, improve performance, and come out ahead during COVID-19.

“We want young athletes and their families to see this COVID situation as an opportunity to get better in all areas of their life and game. We’ve already seen it happen in the first few days of this event. It’s exciting!” said Mahtook.

The Champions Rise Challenge has attracted hundreds of families worldwide and has served as an outlet for both student-athletes and their parents to learn from the best in sports and build community.

The Challenge is free and will run through May 22nd, with daily prizes and giveaways. There is also a charity component for participants who want more of a fan experience.

Challengers can upgrade to an MVP Experience, with 100% of the profits benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, F.L.A.G., and the Jed Foundation. This upgrade gives-them:

• Opportunities to interact LIVE with all Special Guests, including Aaron and Joe

• Exclusive Access to Private Group Coaching & Mentoring with Mikie and James

• MVP Members-ONLY Hot Seat Sessions, where participants can get their specific questions answered in a private group setting

• Lifetime access to all of the Trainings and Special Guest Interviews (otherwise the trainings go away in 72 hours)

Mahtook and Reid aim to raise $100,000 for charity and, most importantly, bring sports families together at a critical time.

“Sure, we’re going to talk about sports and give participants a chance to ask their favorite players what they would do if they were in their shoes, but if you’re not in here to grow in your relationships and family, this Challenge is not for you” Reid said.
