ANAHEIM – The Angels today agreed to a five-year, $26 million contract extension with infielder David Fletcher. The contract also includes a pair of Club options for the 2026 ($8 million) and 2027 ($8.5 million) seasons.

Fletcher, 26, has appeared in 283 games for the Angels since making his Major League debut with the Club on June 13, 2018 vs. Seattle. He has compiled a .292 (317/1087) average with 61 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs and 92 RBI across his three Major League seasons.

Since 2018, he is the second hardest player in the Major to strike out with an average of 9.67 plate appearances per strikeout. Additionally, his 239 hits across the last two seasons rank seventh in the American League. In 2020, the Orange, CA native ranked third in the A.L. with a .319 average (66/207) and was the Angels leader in batting average, hits and doubles (13).
