April 3rd, 2024

ANAHEIM – After beginning the season with a 4-2 record on the first road trip of the year, the Angels return to the Big A this Friday, April 5, to open the home portion of their 2024 schedule against the Red Sox. This season represents the Club’s 59th campaign at Angel Stadium and first time opening at home against Boston since 1997.

Pregame festivities will begin in front of the ballpark at 12:30 p.m. with the Home Opener Red Carpet Event. This special event, which is open to the public, will feature player and alumni appearances, food trucks, games, a DJ booth, Strike Force appearances and more. Fans unable to attend can tune in to AM830 or the AM830 app to listen to Roger Lodge and Trent Rush broadcasting live throughout the event.

In-stadium ceremonies will feature player introductions and the Presentation of Colors by the United States Army Color Guard. Additionally, 150 active and veteran local military service members will unfurl a 300-foot American flag while Jill Marie Burke performs the National Anthem. Two F-15C Eagles from the 144th Fighter Wing of the California Air National Guard will fly over the stadium during the anthem.

Concluding the evening’s celebrations will be a ceremonial first pitch featuring three-time All-Star Jered Weaver. A Southern California native, Weaver spent 11 seasons pitching for the Halos and will throw the pitch to his son Aden, who is named in honor of the late Nick Adenhart.
