Angels sign OF Aaron Hicks

ANAHEIM – The Angels today agreed to a one-year, $740,000 contract with OF Aaron Hicks. In a corresponding 40-man roster move, LHP Kolton Ingram has been designated for assignment.

Hicks, 34, played in 93 games between the Yankees and Orioles during the 2023 season and appeared defensively at all three outfield positions, while hitting .253 (68/269) with eight home runs and 36 RBI. He signed with the Orioles on May 30, and batted .275 (55/200) with 35 runs scored, 31 RBI, and 15 extra-base hits in his 65 games in Baltimore. In the postseason, Hicks posted a 1.025 OPS with five RBI in three games in the American League Division Series against Texas.

A native of San Pedro, CA, Hicks was originally selected by Minnesota in the first round (14th overall) of the 2008 Draft and made his Major League debut with the Twins in 2013. He has totaled 963 career games across parts of 11 MLB seasons with the Twins (2013-15), Yankees (2016-23) and Orioles (2023).
