Astros Foundation College Classic returns to Minute Maid Park this weekend

All nine games to be televised on Space City Home Network and streamed live without a paywall on Astros.com

HOUSTON, TX - The Astros Foundation College Classic returns to Minute Maid Park this weekend, from March 1-3, 2024. The 24th annual three-day, six-team, nine-game tournament will feature top programs in Houston, Louisiana, LSU, Texas, Texas State and Vanderbilt.

LSU is coming off a 2023 College World Series Championship, marking the third time the Astros Foundation College Classic has hosted the defending national champion. The Tigers, who will play Texas, Louisiana and Texas State during the weekend, are the top ranked team in the field, coming into the week ranking No. 2 in the Baseball America rankings. Vanderbilt (No. 9) and Texas (No. 14) also enter the week within BA’s top 25 rankings.

ALL NINE GAMES TO BE TELEVISED AND STREAMED

All nine of the tournament games will be televised by Space City Home Network and available on the channel in the entirety of the Astros five-state viewing area. Seven of the nine games will be on the primary channel, with Saturday’s afternoon and night games being aired live on the Space City Home Network alternate channel.

Additionally, all nine games will also be streamed live without a paywall on Astros.com and on the Astros X, Facebook and YouTube channels.

Nationally, MLB Network will air two games on their network outside of the Astros viewing area. The LSU and Texas game will air on tape delay on Friday night, beginning at 11 p.m. CT. The Louisiana and LSU game on Saturday will air live on MLB Network (blacked out in Astros viewing area).

BATTING PRACTICE SCHEDULE

All six clubs will take batting practice on Thursday at Minute Maid Park, which is open to the media, but closed to the public. Tournament credentials will allow media access into the stadium for batting practice. The schedule for Thursday’s batting practice is as follows:

  • 1-1:55 p.m. LSU
  • 2-2:55 p.m. Texas State
  • 3-3:55 p.m. Louisiana
  • 4-4:55 p.m. Vanderbilt
  • 5-5:55 p.m. Houston
  • 6-6:55 p.m. Texas
