Atlanta Braves hire Scott Waid as senior vice president of technology services

ATLANTA – (October 30, 2020) – The Atlanta Braves have hired Scott Waid as their new senior vice president of technology services. Waid will begin on November 2 and report to Braves President and CEO Derek Schiller.

Waid brings over 30 years of experience with Atlanta-based companies, most recently as senior vice president, operations, strategy and innovation at Equifax. While at Equifax, he held senior leadership positions delivering innovative solutions, analytics and technology to drive growth, deliver operational excellence and improve customer experience.

His vast experience and knowledge of data and technology will be relied upon for the Braves, the Braves Development Company and our minor league teams and he will be an instrumental member of our leadership.”

Prior to working at Equifax, Waid held marketing, operations, technology and corporate strategy and planning positions at AT&T/BellSouth.

After earning a degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Waid earned an MBA in finance from Georgia State University. He has also completed a strategic thinking and management program at Wharton School of Business, an executive management development program from Turknett Leadership Group and an advanced technology program from Carnegie Mellon University.

Waid and his wife, Sandy, reside in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and have three children and are active in the community supporting school programs, youth sports and Boy Scouts of America.
