This weekend at the Yard

August 23rd, 2019

Throughout the weekend, the Baltimore Orioles will join Major League Baseball in celebrating the third annual Players’ Weekend, a league-wide initiative that encourages players to showcase their personalities and passions, through nicknames and personalized aspects of their uniforms.

The Orioles will wear specially-designed, monochromatic, all-black uniforms throughout the weekend, complete with each player or coach’s chosen nickname. Players also have the option to customize cleats, bats, and batting gloves throughout the weekend. Game-worn jerseys and helmets will be authenticated and auctioned at MLB.com/auctions with proceeds benefitting the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation, which aims to improve the caliber and availability of amateur baseball and softball programs across the U.S. and Canada.

Also as part of Players’ Weekend, players and coaches will wear t-shirts representing their favorite charities during batting practice. Fans will enjoy player-picked music pregame and in-game throughout the weekend. Several player-created signature food items will be available for purchase at various locations at Oriole Park, including items chosen by MIGUEL CASTRO, PAUL FRY, TREY MANCINI, JOHN MEANS, and ANTHONY SANTANDER.
