Los Angeles, CA (August 16, 2022) – The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) hosted the sixth and final Dodgers Dreamteam Dodger Day of the season, presented by ARCO and WSS, on Saturday, August 6. Over 600 Dodgers Dreamteam players and their families attended the event at Heartwell Park in Long Beach. The day included LADF program partners and community members coming together for a morning of family fun while providing valuable services including food resources, health screenings and other basic essentials for families in need.
“We have had the honor of serving over 2,600 Angelenos in their own neighborhoods during this season’s Dodgers Dreamteam Dodger Days, who, because of various social injustices, struggle with basic needs,” said Nichol Whiteman, CEO, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. “LADF will continue to work year-round to expand awareness and utilization of services, resources, and education for those who need it most.
During the afternoon, families were invited to sign and write their favorite memories on a special memorial banner for legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully. Additionally, Austin Barnes made a special appearance to meet with players and hand out free All-Star Game batting gloves courtesy of Franklin Sports.
Throughout the course of the 2022 season, Dodger Day events provided Dodgers Dreamteam players and their families access to free eye screenings and exams from Vision to Learn, as well as food boxes from the LA Regional Food Bank, which also assisted families in applying for the Cal Fresh program.
