April 7th, 2021

While the Blue Jays are longing to get back to Toronto, no matter where the club calls “home” this season, the team will represent a nation with pride and grit. There is much to celebrate from a successful 2020, but even more to look forward to in the season ahead.

The Toronto Blue Jays take the field for the Home Opener at TD Ballpark on Thursday, April 8 for first pitch at 7:07 p.m. ET vs. the Los Angeles Angels. The pregame opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet, honouring OF Teoscar Hernández’s 2020 Silver Slugger Award and the club’s Allan H. Selig Award for Philanthropic Excellence. For a piece of home, Forte – Toronto Gay Men’s Chorus – will perform the anthems from Toronto.

For local fans, tickets are available in socially distanced pods of up to four seats (bluejays.com/tickets). Ticket purchasers will receive a guide with TD Ballpark health and safety information and requirements before each game.

Fans taking in the action from Ontario can participate in a classic ballpark experience, supporting Jays Care Foundation’s efforts for a safe return to community baseball diamonds, by purchasing a 50/50 ticket online (bluejays.com/5050). The guaranteed minimum $500,000 prize will be drawn on April 14 at 10 p.m. ET.
