Blue Jays Sign Escobar

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with INF Eduardo Escobar on a Minor League contract with an invite to 2024 Major League Spring Training.

Escobar, 35, appeared in 100 games between the Mets and Angels in 2023, hitting .226 with 17 extra-base hits and 31 RBI. The 5-10, 193 lb. switch-hitter was signed by the White Sox as an international free agent in 2006 and made his MLB debut for the club in 2011. Over the course of 13 big-league seasons, the native of La Pica, Maracay, Venezuela has suited up for the White Sox, Twins, Diamondbacks, Brewers, Mets, and Angels, posting a .253 batting average with 247 doubles, 46 triples, 164 home runs, and 636 RBI while earning an All-Star nod in 2021.
