ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves today announced the club signed 36 of its 41 picks in the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, including each of its first 26 selections.

In total, Atlanta has 18 pitchers (15 right-handers, three left-handers), eight infielders, seven outfielders and three catchers under contract from this season’s draft class. The deadline to sign drafted players was 5:00 p.m. today.

The 2019 draft marks the first time the Braves used their top three picks on college players since 2011, when the organization drafted collegiate players with its first four picks. Atlanta signed 28 collegians in total this year.

The Braves signed each of their first eight high school draft choices, including third-round pick OF Mike Harris.
