BREWERS ANNOUNCE ADDITIONS TO MAJOR LEAGUE STAFF

Charlie Greene Named Bullpen Coach; Bryn Hester Added to Athletic Training Staff

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the addition of Charlie Greene to the Major League coaching staff as bullpen coach and Bryn Hester to the Major League athletic training staff as assistant athletic trainer and physical therapist. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold.

Greene, who turns 53 on Jan. 23, enters his 20th season in the Brewers organization. He spent 2023 as assistant director of player development after serving 16 years (2007-22) as field coordinator. Additionally, he has been a catching instructor in the organization since joining the player development staff in 2005.

Selected by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 1991 First-Year Player Draft out of Miami Dade College, Greene played parts of five seasons in the Major Leagues, including 32 games with the Brewers in 1999.

Greene made his Major League debut with the New York Mets in 1996 and also played in the big leagues with the Baltimore Orioles (1997-98) and Toronto Blue Jays (2000). He finished his career in the Minor Leagues with the Padres (2001), Atlanta Braves (2001), Florida Marlins (2002) and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2003).

Hester, 31, enters his third season with the Brewers after joining the organization as a Minor League athletic trainer and physical therapist in Dec. 2021. He was promoted to rehabilitation coordinator in Nov. 2022.

Prior to joining the Brewers, Hester served as an athletic trainer and physical therapist at the University of Missouri in 2021 and as an athletic trainer and physical therapist at Focus on Physical Therapy in Missouri from 2019-21. He earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training in 2016 and his doctorate of physical therapy in 2019 from Harding University. Hester was a member of the baseball team at Harding from 2012-14.
