Major League Baseball today announced the ceremonial & off-field activities for Game Three of the 2022 World Series presented by Capital One. The 118th Fall Classic between the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies and the American League Champion Houston Astros continues tonight, Monday, October 31st, at Citizens Bank Park with LIVE coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes and ESPN Radio. ESPN Radio will provide live national coverage of all 2022 World Series games.
CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCHES: A group of Philadelphia Sports Champions will throw the ceremonial first pitches tonight, including:
- Baseball Hall of Famer, Three-Time National League MVP & 1980 World Series Champion Mike Schmidt
- Basketball Hall of Famer, 76ers Legend & 1983 NBA Finals Champion “Dr. J” Julius Erving
- Hockey Hall of Famer, Flyers Legend and 1973-1974 & 1974-1975 Stanley Cup Champion Bernie Parent

NATIONAL ANTHEM PERFORMANCES: Singer-songwriter and entertainer Madison Watkins will peform the National Anthem before Game Three. Watkins has appeared on the Grammys, American Idol, and has opened for numerous globally renowned artists including Elle King, Gwen Stefani and Jason Durulo. ROBERTO CLEMENTE AWARD PRESENTED BY CAPITAL ONE: Prior to Game Three, Major League Baseball will celebrate the legacy of one of baseball’s greatest humanitarians by announcing the recipient of the 2022 Roberto Clemente Award presented by Capital One. The winner will be presented with his trophy by Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr., the Clemente Family, and Andy Navarrete of Capital One.
BGCA GAME BALL DELIVERY: Nile Mosby, 17, of Wissahickon Boys & Girls Club will deliver the game ball for Game Three. Mosby, whose favorite player is Bryce Harper, attends Carver High School of Engineering & Science. He will be eligible to be a candidate for the 2023 Boys & Girls Clubs of America “Youth of the Year” for Philadelphia.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY DURING WORLD SERIES: As part of Major League Baseball’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, MLB has ensured that the 2022 World Series incorporates environmentally friendly features and activities. Efforts include:
- World Series Green Teams will collect recyclables between innings and raise awareness for what fans can do in their everyday life to be more environmentally conscious during Games 1-7.
- MLB is providing reusable MLB Green branded water bottles and water refill stations to Broadcasters, Media and MLB Staff in an effort to reduce single-use plastics.
