Chicago’s Anderson disciplined

September 29th, 2021

Shortstop Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox has received a suspension of three (3) regular season games and an undisclosed fine for making contact with Umpire Tim Timmons during the on-field incident with the Detroit Tigers in the top of the ninth inning of Monday’s game at Detroit’s Comerica Park. Michael Hill, Senior Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.

The suspension of Anderson had been scheduled to begin tonight, when the White Sox are to host the Cincinnati Reds. However, Anderson has elected to appeal. Thus, the discipline will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
