Colorado Rockies announce 2023 Opening Day roster

SAN DIEGO – The Colorado Rockies today officially announced their 2023 Opening Day active roster. As part of that announcement, the Rockies have recalled right-handed pitcher Jake Bird, and placed right-handed pitchers Daniel Bard and Antonio Senzatela on the 15-day injured list and outfielder Randal Grichuk on the 10-day injured list.

Six players will appear on their first Opening Day active roster: pitchers Jake Bird, Ryan Feltner and Connor Seabold, catcher Brian Serven, and infielders Elehuris Montero and Ezequiel Tovar.

Outfielder Charlie Blackmon, the longest tenured active Rockie entering his 13th Major League season, is a member of his 10th career Opening Day roster, surpassing Carlos González and Troy Tulowitzki for the second-most in franchise history behind Todd Helton’s 16.

The Rockies open their 30th anniversary season against the San Diego Padres this evening with a 6:40 p.m. PT / 7:40 p.m. MT first pitch at Petco Park. After four games in San Diego (Thursday-Sunday) and two in Los Angeles against the Dodgers (Monday-Tuesday), the Rockies return to Coors Field for the 2023 Home Opener on Thursday, April 6 at 2:10 p.m. MT against the Washington Nationals.
