RHP Tanner Anderson Outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s announced today that infielder Corban Joseph, who was designated for assignment on Sunday, has been claimed off waivers by the San Francisco Giants. Right-handed pitcher Tanner Anderson, who was also designated for assignment Sunday, cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Joseph was batting .371 with 13 home runs and 73 RBI in 97 games with Las Vegas when he was selected by Oakland on Aug. 14. He went 7-for-37 (.189) with his first Major League home run and five RBI in 11 games with the A’s, including nine starts at second base and one at designated hitter.

Anderson had two stints with Oakland and was 0-3 with a 6.04 ERA and .309 opponents batting average in five starts. All of his outings came during his first stay with the A’s from June 10 to July 4. He returned a second time July 23 but was sent back to Las Vegas two days later without pitching. Anderson was 9-5 with a 6.00 ERA and .307 opponents average in 21 games, including 16 starts, with the Aviators.
