Chicago Cubs kick off 2024 regular season at Wrigley Field April 1

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs will kick off the 2024 regular season at Wrigley Field Monday, April 1, at 1:20 p.m. CT against the Colorado Rockies, after a three-game series at Texas (March 28, 30-31). The club’s opening homestand will feature a three-game series against Colorado (April 1-3) followed by a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 5-7). Limited single game tickets are still available for fans to purchase for Opening Day and the first homestand.

In keeping with tradition, pregame festivities for Opening Day at Wrigley Field will include an on-field flag presentation by Cubs Season Ticket Holders as well as a T-38 Talon flyover by the U.S. Air Force 7th Fighter Training Squadron located at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. Chicago native and musical artist Alleece Baker will sing “God Bless America” and John Vincent will sing the national anthem. In addition, Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and Cubs Hall of Famers will sing the seventh-inning stretch.

For the Cubs home opener, fans are encouraged to come out to Wrigley Field from 8:30-9:30 a.m. CT to welcome the players back to Chicago as they make their way from the Toyota Highlander Lot to the clubhouse. Fans can line up along the blue carpet that will be just outside the Toyota Highlander Lot entrance on Waveland Ave.

When coming to a game this season, fans should keep in mind the following information before heading to the ballpark:

  • For most games, gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch. Gates will open two hours before first pitch for Opening Day, Saturday games and special occasions. Each mobile ticket includes an assigned entry gate.
  • Bag restrictions are still in place with only bags smaller than 16 x 16 x 8 inches in size being permitted inside the ballpark. Backpacks are not permitted. Exceptions will be made for medical bags and diaper bags that accompany guests with young children.
  • All purchases at Wrigley Field remain cashless.
  • Cubs tickets are available exclusively as mobile tickets via the MLB Ballpark app. The latest version of the app is required to access tickets for the 2024 season.
  • Fans looking to pick up a First Timer’s Certificate can head to the new location inside the Gallagher Way Gate.

New at Wrigley Field:

James Hardie, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of building solutions, will now be the naming rights partner of the Catalina Club in the upper level.

A new sensory room will be available to fans needing to decompress from sensory sensitivities during games and events at Wrigley Field. The sensory room was designed and created in partnership with KultureCity to promote an accommodating and positive experience for all fans of all ages with sensory needs and is located on the main concourse next to the Fan Services Booth directly behind home plate. Sensory bags also are available for fans to check out at no cost from the Fan Services Booth on the main concourse and in the Budweiser Bleachers.

New electric vehicle charging stations will be added to the Toyota Camry Lot (1126 W. Grace St.) for fans to use on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the 2024 season starting April 1. Wrigley Field is the first venue in the U.S. to utilize these electric vehicle charging stations from global innovator LG Electronics. Food and Beverage Updates:

The 2024 food and beverage menu for Wrigley Field includes new collectible offerings with unique and bold flavors. Crafted in partnership with hospitality partner Levy, highlights across Wrigley Field concessions include:

  • Chimichurri Tri-Tip Sandwich: Ancho-rubbed tri-tip steak, tangy chimichurri sauce, creamy horseradish sauce, charred red bell pepper rings and fresh arugula served on ciabatta bread.
  • Chicken Quesadilla: Ancho-citrus chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, mild cheddar, pickled jalapeños, all served in a soft flour tortilla with chipotle ranch dipping sauce.
  • Braised Chicken Tinga Nachos: Tender chicken cooked in a smoky tomato sauce with traditional Mexican spices, available only at Platform 14.
  • Ancho-Spiced Shredded Barbacoa Nachos: Tender beef slow-cooked with flavorful ancho spices, available only at Platform 14.
  • Chori-Soy and Roasted Corn Nachos: A flavorful blend of vegan protein, fire-roasted corn, jalapeños, onions and cilantro sautéed in a chorizo spice blend, available only at Platform 14.

A new self-service market will be added to Wrigley Field this season. Located near section 133 in the ballpark, Cubs fans can grab snacks and beverages at the new “Sheffield Market.”

Turano buns and Hampton Farms shelled peanuts will now be available in the ballpark for fans to enjoy, as well as beloved favorites including Garrett Popcorn Shops, Home Run Inn Pizza, Hot Doug’s and Vienna Beef.

Ticket Offers and Promotional Items:

Fans can take advantage of over 50 promotional items, including more than 35 Special Ticket Offers, and enjoy six ballpark celebrations and events throughout the 2024 regular season. From one-of-a-kind player bobbleheads featuring Adbert Alzolay, Ian Happ, Christopher Morel and Justin Steele to six new #BudFridays mesh tanks featuring classic Cubs logos and new Clark the Cub plushies on select Kids Sundays, there is an item for every fan. The Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle is back starting April 1! For the 2024 regular season, fans in Illinois can purchase Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle tickets online starting at 10 a.m. CT until the end of that day’s game or through a Raffle Ambassador at Wrigley Field when gates open until the bottom of the eighth inning. For all Cubs home games this season, the winning ticket will receive half of the net proceeds from the game’s raffle ticket sales and the other half will benefit Cubs Charities and its mission to mobilize the power of sport to champion youth, families and communities.
