D-backs decline club options on Wilmer Flores and T.J. McFarland; outright Abraham Almonte and Robby Scott to Triple-A Reno

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks declined the club options on INF Wilmer Flores and LHP T.J. McFarland. Additionally, the D-backs outrighted OF Abraham Almote and LHP Robby Scott to Triple-A Reno.

Flores, 28, hit .317 (84-for-265)/.361 OBP/.487 SLG with 18 doubles, 9 home runs and 37 RBI in 89 games in his first season with the D-backs in 2019.

McFarland, 30, established career highs in appearances (51) and holds (9) in his third season with Arizona in 2019 and posted a 4.82 ERA (30 ER in 56.0 IP) with 35 strikeouts. In 141 games (1 start) with the D-backs from 2017-19, he went 6-7 with 1 save, 12 holds and a 3.86 ERA (78 ER in 182.0 IP) and 106 strikeouts. 

Almonte, 30, batted .290 (9-for-31) with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 4 RBI in 17 games in his first season with the D-backs in 2019.

Scott, 30, appeared in 11 games in his lone season with Arizona in 2019, going 1-0 with a 4.91 ERA (4 ER in 7.1 IP) and 9 strikeouts. 

INF Kevin Cron, 26, underwent a Partial Medial Meniscectomy (medial meniscus trim) in his right knee on October 15 in Scottsdale (performed by Dr. Waslewski). Cron is expected to be a full participant in Spring Training.
