D-backs select Brandyn Sittinger from Triple-A Reno; place Tyler Clippard on the injured list; recalled Miguel Aguilar from Triple-A Reno yesterday and optioned Taylor Clarke to Reno following Sunday’s game

The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves:

Select RHP Brandyn Sittinger (No. 52) from Triple-A Reno.

  • The 27-year old will be making his Major League debut after 5 Minor League seasons (2016-19, ’21) and 112 career relief appearances.
  • This season at Double-A Amarillo (12 G) and Triple-A Reno (21 G), made 33 relief appearances and went 1-2 with 5 saves, a 4.03 ERA (17 ER in 38.0 IP), a .204 opponent average, 17 walks and 51 strikeouts.
  • Did not pitch professionally in 2020 due to no Minor League season.
  • Signed by Arizona as a Minor League free agent on Nov. 29, 2019.
  • Spent 4 seasons (2016-19) in the Detroit Tigers’ organization after being drafted in the 17th round of the 2016 draft out of Ashland (Ohio) College.

Place RHP Tyler Clippard on the injured list.

Recalled LHP Miguel Aguilar (No. 68) from Reno yesterday.

Optioned RHP Taylor Clarke to Reno following Sunday’s game.
