Dodgers activate Brusdar Graterol

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol and optioned right-handed pitcher Ryan Pepiot.

Graterol, 23, returns after being placed on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation on July 11. He made four rehab appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City, allowing one hit in 3.2 innings with four strikeouts. The Venezuelan right-hander has appeared in 37 games for the Dodgers, and he is 2-3 with a 3.35 ERA (15 ER/40.1 IP) and 35 strikeouts. In parts of four seasons with the Dodgers, he is a combined 7-6 with a 3.80 ERA (45 ER/106.2 IP) and 85 strikeouts. He was originally signed as an international free agent out of Calabozo, Venezuela on August 29, 2014 by the Minnesota Twins.

Pepiot, 25, made the start yesterday, recording the win, allowing two runs in 6.0 innings against the Marlins. He improved to 2-0 on the campaign with a 4.02 ERA (14 ER/31.1 IP) and 36 strikeouts in seven games for the Dodgers. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he is 8-0 with a 2.27 ERA (19 ER/75.1 IP) and 93 strikeouts in 15 games (13 starts). The Indiana native has spent parts of three seasons in the minor leagues with the Dodgers, going 13-9 with a 3.42 ERA (76 ER/200.0 IP) and 251 strikeouts in 54 games (45 starts). He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the third round (102nd overall) of the 2019 First Year Player Draft out of Butler.
