Dodgers, Rays and Major League Baseball ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ during Game 3 of the 2020 World Series

Mastercard to Launch $1,000,000 Stand Up To Cancer Donation Match Campaign

October 23rd, 2020

MLB, Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and Mastercard will continue the annual Fall Classic tradition of an in-game SU2C moment at Globe Life Field to honor and remember loved ones affected by cancer. Following the 5th inning during Game 3, FOX will LIVE broadcast as players and coaches from the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays, as well as umpires, join baseball fans everywhere to pay tribute to those in the fight, to remember those we have lost and to honor those who have overcome this disease by holding up special placards in a united stand to defeat cancer. Fans at home can create a tribute placard with the name of a loved one who they stand up for at: https://standuptocancer.org/istandupfor.

Additionally, MLB and SU2C have unveiled a special commemorative video that features highlights from these indelible moments at MLB jewel events over the years. That video can be viewed HERE.

Mastercard has proudly supported Stand Up To Cancer for the past decade, donating more than $50 million to Stand Up To Cancer with the help of its cardholders. To acknowledge this milestone, today, Mastercard is launching a donation match through the end of 2020 for fans to donate on StandUpToCancer.org using their Mastercard, and when they do the company will match what they give, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000,000. Fans can visit StandUpToCancer.org to make their contributions_. Terms and Conditions apply._

MLB and its 30 Clubs are the founding donors of SU2C, committing more than $50 million, to date, to SU2C’s innovative cancer research programs. Contributions to SU2C since its founding have made a significant impact in the cancer research and treatment community. More than 1,950 scientists, representing more than 210 institutions, are involved in SU2C-funded research projects, and more than 180 clinical trials have been funded by the organization. In May 2020, SU2C announced its eighth FDA approval for a new cancer therapy that was supported by SU2C research. Stand Up To Cancer is a division of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
