Dodgers trade Luke Raley

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded outfielder Luke Raley to the Tampa Bay Rays for minor league pitcher Tanner Dodson. 

Raley, 27, played in 33 games for the Dodgers last season, hitting .182 (12-for-66) with two homers and four RBI. He made his Major League debut on April 9th against the Washington Nationals and delivered his first hit on April 14th against the Colorado Rockies. He spent the majority of the season with Oklahoma City, clubbing 19 homers and driving in 69 runs in 72 games. In his minor league career, he is a .289 hitter with 65 combined homers and 247 RBI. 

Dobson, 24, spent last season with the Tampa Bay Rays organization, going a combined 5-2 with a 3.20 ERA (20 ER/56.1 IP) and 64 strikeouts between High-A Bowling Green and Double-A Montgomery. In three minor league seasons, he is a combined 6-3 with a 3.11 ERA with 104 strikeouts in 98.1 innings. He was originally drafted by the Rays as the 78th overall player in the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of California.
