LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today unveiled their Nike MLB City Connect Series uniforms, which will debut on-field tomorrow (Aug. 20) and Saturday (Aug. 21) during the Dodgers’ games vs. the New York Mets.

The uniforms are part of Major League Baseball and Nike’s City Connect Series, which are designed to explore a franchise’s connection to its city and its fanbase’s distinct personalities, values, customs and traditions. On the 40th anniversary of Fernandomania, the Dodgers’ City Connect uniforms salute the team’s connection with its Latino fanbase with ‘Los Dodgers’ on both the uniform cap and jersey front. The design respects the tradition of the club’s uniforms with the familiar team script and red numbers on the jersey front, but boldly clads the team in Dodger blue jerseys and pants for the first time in franchise history. The uniform’s sleeves are accented by a pop of spray paint, a nod to the City’s street art culture and the murals which add color to buildings throughout Los Angeles.

“The Dodger uniform is an iconic part of the franchise’s identity. While our traditional look has and will always be worn by the franchise-great players, the City Connect program offered us the opportunity to recognize the impact and importance of our multicultural fanbase,” said Lon Rosen, Dodger Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re excited to debut these City Connect uniforms on the field and know our fans will enjoy seeing ‘Los Dodgers’ on the uniforms as well as our new murals, which bring Los Angeles’ street art culture to Dodger Stadium.”

The Nike Dodgers City Connect Jerseys are available today, August 19, on Nike app/.com, @NikeDiamond’s Instagram shop, MLBShop.com, MLB Flagship Store (NYC) and select retail locations. City Connect merchandise will be available starting tomorrow, Friday, August 20 at Dodger Stadium retail locations.

In celebration of the Dodgers’ new Nike City Connect uniforms, fans are invited to visit special pop-up events and game watch parties tomorrow and Saturday, which will feature access to exclusively shop new Dodger merchandise, live entertainment, a World Series trophy photo opportunity and special appearances from Dodger alumni. The events will take place tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the 1300 block of the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at Plaza Mexico in Lynwood. iHeart Los Angeles will be providing live entertainment at both events and Roggin & Rodney will broadcast live from the Santa Monica event Friday from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. on the home of Dodgers, AM 570 LA Sports.
