Giants agree to two-year contract with OF Harrison Bader

SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants and outfielder Harrison Bader have agreed to terms on a two-year Major League contract.

Bader, 31, set career-bests this past season in batting average (.277), hits (124), doubles (24), home runs (17), RBI (54), on-base percentage (.347) and OPS (.796) while tying his career-high in runs scored (61). After being acquired by the Phillies from the Twins on July 31, Bader hit .305 with 30 runs, 11 doubles, five home runs, 16 RBI and an .824 OPS in 50 games. His .305 batting average from August 1 through the end of the season was seventh best in the Majors (min. 50 games played).

Originally a third-round draft selection by the Cardinals in 2015 out of the University of Florida, Bader has played nine years in the Majors with the Cardinals (2017-2022), Yankees (2022-2023), Reds (2023), Mets (2024), Twins (2025) and Phillies (2025).

The Bronxville, NY, native is a career .247 hitter with 391 runs, 130 doubles, 88 home runs, 322 RBI, 105 stolen bases and a .714 OPS in 924 games. He has four homers, 10 RBI and a .483 slugging percentage in 18 career games at Oracle Park. His first big-league homer came in San Francisco off Johnny Cueto on Sept. 1, 2017.

Defensively, Bader has finished in the top-10 in Gold Glove voting for outfielders in six of his nine years in the Majors, winning the award in 2021. Since his debut 2017 season, his 77 outs above average are the most among active outfielders over that span while his 67 defensive runs saved rank fifth-most among all outfielders.
