League Championship Series umpires announced

LCS Crew Chiefs Are Jeff Nelson (AL) and Jim Reynolds (NL)

Major League Baseball today announced the Major League Umpires who have been assigned to the 2020 League Championship Series, with Jeff Nelson (ALCS) and Jim Reynolds (NLCS) as crew chiefs.

The AL Championship Series presented by GEICO is scheduled to begin today at San Diego’s Petco Park, featuring the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays and the #6 Houston Astros, the defending AL Champions. Nelson’s seven-umpire crew has Lance Barksdale, regular season crew chief Ted Barrett, Chris Conroy, Manny Gonzalez, Tim Timmons and John Tumpane. All ALCS games will be telecast exclusively by TBS.

The NL Championship Series presented by Camping World is set to start on Monday, October 12th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, showcasing the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers and the #2 Atlanta Braves. The crew led by Reynolds includes Cory Blaser, Pat Hoberg, James Hoye, regular season crew chief Dan Iassogna, Will Little and Alan Porter. FS1 will exclusively broadcast all NLCS games.

Each of the seven umpires assigned to the LCS crews could receive a plate assignment. Each umpire will be off the field during the game prior to their scheduled plate game. The Replay Officials during the League Championship Series will be Major League Umpires Marty Foster (ALCS) and Mike Muchlinski (NLCS), while Jordan Baker will assist both. A complete listing of the rotations for the LCS accompanies this press release.
