Electric Play of the Week presented by Chevrolet

Impressive Double Play by Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles

September 1st at Chase Field – Watch It Here

Baltimore Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson earned his second career Play of the Week Award, with both coming this season after the versatile infielder also won on July 24th. This marks the sixth Play of the Week Award for Baltimore this season, joining Cedric Mullins (May 8th, July 10th, August 14th) and Austin Hays (August 7th). It is the MLB-best 10th overall honor for the Orioles since the award was introduced in 2019. In the bottom of the fourth inning on Friday, Nick Ahmed hit a fly ball to shallow left field, which Henderson tracked down with a long run from shortstop and then made a perfect throw to home plate to nail the speedy Corbin Carroll and end the inning. Additional Play of the Week candidates included Luke Weaver’s diving stop off the mound; Nico Hoerner’s fantastic double play; Kevin Pillar’s diving catch on the line; Carson Kelly’s bizarre double play; Liover Peguero's stellar catch; and DJ Stewart’s spectacular diving catch.
