Marty Golf raises over $100K for Reds Community Fund

16th annual Marty Brennaman Golf Classic presented by Thomas More University

The Reds Community Fund announced that the 16**th**** annual Marty Brennaman Golf Classic presented by Thomas More University**on September 20, 2020 at Topgolf West Chester raised more than $100,000.

Hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman, the event featured over 170 golfers and 30 celebrities including broadcasters Chris Welsh, Jim Day, Brian Giesenschlag, Jeff Piecoro and Tommy Thrall plus former Reds players Dave Parker, Doug Flynn, Chris Nichting and Ricky Stone.  

This is the first year the event was held at Topgolf and the new venue was a big hit with the guests and celebrities. 

“While this may not have been the traditional, two-day event from years past, it turned out to be a very special evening,” said Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman. “I was so pleased with the turnout and atmosphere, and the weather couldn’t have been better. I can’t express enough my gratitude to Topgolf West Chester, our sponsors and celebrity guests for their involvement and support of the Reds Community Fund.”

The golfers played multiple rounds of the Topgolf games, enjoyed a buffet dinner and were treated to a viewing of Terry Lukemire’s new Marty Brennaman documentary, How We Lookin?: The Immortal Words of Marty Brennaman.

Since its inception in 2005, the Marty Brennaman Golf Classic has raised over $3 million to support the baseball, softball and education-themed outreach programs of the Reds Community Fund.

The event was sponsored by Thomas More University and the Cincinnati Reds.
